Meet the Steering Committee

Hello!

In Jan 2018 we volunteered to run the CRALAT over the next three years. We are (in alphabetical order):

 Jane Trueman (Secretary)

Jane1

I live on Coombe Road, moved into my flat here 9 months ago but I have lived on Redvers Road previously. I have worked at the University of Sussex Students’ Union for over 8 years and I am currently managing several voluntary projects. I graduated from Brighton University in Fine Art Sculpture and enjoy making jewellery for presents for my friends and family. I joined the LAT as I want to get involved in the local community, meet new people and do some volunteering.

I’m on Redvers Road, I have lived here since 1991 and love living here. I’m a keen traveller and dancer and though now retired from full-time work I do work part-time as a local Blue Badge tourist guide and also as a caller for English country dancing. I helped to organise a couple of street parties which enabled me to get to know people on my street, it’s important to me to be involved in the community. I am concerned about the changes happening in this area and want to ensure that residents concerns are considered in the current developments.

I’ve been living on Ewhurst Road since 2012 with my partner and now three young kids. I work mainly from home for an Italian software company, with regular travel to London and Italy. I’m a keen if not gifted runner and can often be seen ambling round the Level. By joining the CRALAT steering committee I hope to stand up for our area and make a positive difference for my family and our neighbours

Hi. I moved to Ewhurst Rd from Hanover in June last year, where I live with my partner and young daughter. I work for a charity for adults with learning disabilities in Surrey. When I have spare time I’m a passionate Newcastle Utd supporter and occasional Albion watcher. I got involved because I want the Lewis Rd developments to have a positive impact on the people who actually live here, and to meet people in the local area.

I’m on Redvers Road, lived here since 1986, recently retired from a career in social work and teaching in local authorities, charities and higher education. Am a keen gardener, allotment holder (Moulsecoomb site), choir member and traveller! I would like to become more involved in my local community and am particularly concerned that the new university developments are capitalised on to enhance, rather than detract from, the experience of living in the area for residents.
